Starz gives away some
pirate's treasure this summer
The $4 million marketing blitz, The Starz Summer of Gold, runs from May 1-June 30 and features a $1 million instant-win game. Game pieces can be obtained in issues of People, Entertainment Weekly, US Weekly, STAR, Premiere, Time, Newsweek, Travel & Leisure, Good Housekeeping and Redbook starting May 11. Consumers can also request a game piece by mail. The scratch-off instant win piece features a serial number that contestants may enter on www.starz.com to see if they won. The premiere airs June 12.

Visitors to the site can also enter the Starz Summer of Gold sweepstakes or be automatically entered by subscribing to Starz through their cable or satellite provider. The grand-prize winner of the sweeps will receive a seven-night Disney cruise vacation for four.

Additionally, Starz teamed up with Ecount, an electronic payments company, to offer consumers a $20 Visa gift card when they subscribe to Starz. The gift offer form can be downloaded off the starz.com Web site.

Regal CineMedia, Inc., Screenvision and National Cinema Network's AMC Entertainment, Inc. will debut on-air advertising in cinemas across the country. National print ads, cross channel advertising, direct marketing and e-marketing support.

Morrison Creative and Mice Type Services, based in St. Louis, MO, is responsible for management and fulfillment of the instant win game.
